From 1 November to 31 March, dogs are allowed on this sand with no extra clock limit. The off-leash map treats the signed summer sand as off leash. Dogs cannot go on the sand anywhere else on St Kilda Beach in summer, apart from the Brooks Jetty stretch.
From 1 April to 31 October, Council says dogs are allowed on the sand. Those rules are published on the dog off-leash map, and a dog must be put back on a leash before it leaves the sand. This tool shows that winter period as off leash. Greyhounds must stay on a leash everywhere, including off-leash sand. Paths and boardwalks are on leash. Keep dogs 5 metres from playgrounds, barbecues and exercise equipment.
