From 1 November to 31 March, dogs are allowed on the sand between these two groynes. Council does not add a clock time for this stretch. The off-leash map treats signed summer sand as off leash. Dogs cannot go on the sand anywhere else on Sandridge Beach in that season.

From 1 April to 31 October, Council says dogs are allowed on the sand. Those rules are published on the dog off-leash map, and a dog must be put back on a leash before it leaves the sand. This tool shows that winter period as off leash. Greyhounds must stay on a leash everywhere, including off-leash sand. Paths and boardwalks are on leash. Keep dogs 5 metres from playgrounds, barbecues and exercise equipment.
