This status is only for Charman Road to Plummer Road. Each stretch below has its own status.
Mentone has a 24-hour off-leash dog beach between Charman Road and Plummer Road. The rest of Mentone sand follows Kingston’s on/off-leash times.

The foreshore map marks a 24-hour off-leash area on the sand only, labelled at Mentone between Charman Road and Plummer Road. It applies in both the summer and winter maps. Paths are still on leash.

The map also labels Mentone with Parkdale and Mordialloc as an on/off-leash area, outside the 24-hour stretch.
On the summer map (1 November to 31 March) this on/off-leash sand is off leash from sunrise to 10am, closed to dogs from 10am to 7:30pm, and on leash from 7:30pm until sunrise. On the winter map (1 April to 31 October) it is on leash from 11am to 3pm and off leash at all other times. Sunrise is calculated for this pin and can be a minute or two off. Dogs must be on a leash on bike tracks and footpaths, including the foreshore path, and on a leash before they reach the off-leash sand.

- 1 April to 31 October
- 11:00am–3:00pm: on a leash. Outside those times: off leash.
