Mornington Beach: check with council
Checking the clock…
Get directionsRules can change at short notice. Always check the signs at the beach and the council's page before you go.
The published rule is not complete enough to calculate a live status. Use the council link and the signs on the beach.
Dog times for Mornington Beach are on the Mornington Peninsula Shire map. A single clock rule is not published in text, so this page says check with council.

Port Phillip Bay beaches on the Peninsula are managed by a mix of the Shire and the state Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action. The Shire’s interactive map is the place it tells visitors to look. On 27 October 2026 that map did not yield a text rule for Mornington Beach. The leash-free PDF linked from the Shire still says “Effective as at January 2013”, and dog controls changed on 12 December 2024, so that PDF is not used. The Dogs in Public Places Policy adopted on 25 June 2024 does not list clock times. There is no live status.
Beaches that are managed by the State Government through the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) have various rules. Please use our interactive map below to find out which controls apply on your local beaches.
